Hi

Just changing the rear pads on my S2 Elise...

Seems simple enough except, i can't get the calliper to pivot on the retaining bolt to get the inner pads out. Any advice much appreciated cos i could do with having it on the road for tomorrow!?

Using the guide on www.sandsmuseum.com, already done the fronts no problem a week or two ago but stuck on these! The 17mm bolt is out on the calliper but its got no give in any direction...

Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly, push the caliper towards the middle of car so it slides along lower shaft & it will twist to the rear. I think.

You can replace the rear pads without swiveling the caliper. Take out the front pad, slide the caliper towards you and remove the disc. You can then take the rear pad out, wind back the piston and put the new ones in.

I do mine as Steve decribes - easy job. Don't forget to let the handbrake off!
