Yes it will fit, but the roof scoop bulge will look very odd.

While it is everyone's personal opinion I think what might Shangani mean is that at the back edge of the roof you will have a hole that won't match up with the rest of the car as the Elise doesn't have the spine running down the hatch/engine cover like the Exige

Zasker has explained it better than I managed. The fittings are identical so it will fit an S2 111s (which were all short-tail roofs). However:

The elise hardtop has a dip along the middle of the long axis:

The exige (other than a few variants with a full roof scoop) have a bulge on the rear part of the roof which runs cleanly into a spine on the engine cover.

Having it stick up on an elise will look a bit odd, but that's your choice. Fitment-wise the elise and exige hardtops are identical.

doubtful as it wont look right (IMHO).

worth asking at seloc.org - more chance of getting a pic there.

You could try and fill the gap that the air vent will make with another LED brake light so you will have one light above and one below the roof line, that may make the roof scoop look ok rather than not melting into the surrounding body pannels.

It will look completely stupid IMHO...

There will be a big hole at the back around 6 inches wide and 1 inch high..

That and everyone will wonder why on earth you have an Exige rool on an Elise.. ?

I thought this was a troll thread, but am worried that the OP is serious. Will look absolutely cack! It would bve like pretending you had an Exige when you have an elise _ Why? The Elise looks great without needing an air scoop on, particularly one that has no practical use.

This is almost the first stage of 'chavving up' and elise.

sorry all i retract my post don't want to upset any hardcore elise fans, im just trying to make my elise stand out from the crowd without going 'chav' not that ive ever seen a chav in an elise i think they like to stick to their hot hatches and battered scoobies.

spot on: air vent good, brake light good (low car), individual looking good, what´s not to like?

or maybe i was thinking going out on a limb and diverting the cool air taken from the roof with some custom carbon fibre ducting effort down though a hole the engine hatch straight to the air filter for max induction !!!!!

Just kidding spin

I hope none of my posts have come across as sgging off the original poster as that certainly wasn't my intention. I was just trying to illustrate the potential problem of using an exige roof with regard to the roof scoop, especially at the rear part of the roof. Certainly doesn't make someone wrong for having raised the question and if that's what they want to do, then go for it.

Heck, when the "purists" see what I am doing to my car they will sh*t themselves. Let's just say that the only part of the exterior that is remaining unchanged are the doors and the windscreen surround. (for now anyway, though I was considering getting rid of them as well)

Lets not forget that the roof scoop does bugger all on most Exiges, too.

Are you 'junks'ing it?

To the OP, I think the classic line of the Elise roof will suit the car better, but if you think you can make it work, go nuts. It'll cost you though and may end up looking very odd. Can you get someone to photoshop it for you as a test?

Not Junksing it by any means. It won't however be a "widebody" kit or anything like that.

Let's just say it should be pretty quick when it's done and have aero that works. It won't be a road car though.

I used to have a 111s _ I remember them coming with a hard and soft top as standard _ what's happened to the original roof?

Are you just changing the roof or the sake of the appearance _ I still don't get it?
