Boot lid alarm sensor failure
Discussion
Afternoon all,
As the title suggests, I have a problem with the alarm sensor on my boot lid. Usually, when my '04 S2 111s is centrally locked, and as a result the alarm activated, the sensor captures the doors, front panels and boot lid.
I opened the boot lid when the car was 'armed' but no alarm siren went off - are the sensors prone to failure? I thought there may be some warning of them failing if so?
I don't think there is a problem with water ingress, etc. as the car is garaged. Any other suggestions as the other sensors seem to work fine, so presuming it's just isolated to the boot.
Cheers
Rich

Quite a common problem with the boot lid alarm sensor. Best bet is to open the boot lid and operate the switch by hand to see if it's working or not. Does the alarm give you 4 beeps when you set it? Mine did when the switch in the boot wasn't working.
Haven't tried that, will do next. Usually after arming with say either the boot or the doors open it makes an audible warning almost immediately to say that one of the contact points isn't connected. Will let you know the result, won't be able to try for a couple of days.
Cheers
