After 5 years of S1 ownership the time is coming to buy a new Elise. Can anyone recommend a good main Lotus dealer please?

Bought my car (111R) from Westover in Poole almost 2 years ago, Chris and Ben were very helpful both before and in the 2 years since the sale. For example, they just lent me their Supercharged Elise as a courtesy car, while mine was serviced. On another occasion I got a call as they'd asked the Lotus field engineer to look at my car after the indicator had popped out a second time.

Bell and Colvill and Lipscomb both seem to have a good reputation. In the current economic climate, you are in a strong position, particularly if they have a car you like sitting in the showroom and on the dealers books.

Personally I'd take a look at the new cars in the classifieds and ring a few dealers and see what they'll do for you.

Good luck - the SC is a superb sports car incidentally but at 42 grand it's a lot of money and makes the new S sitting in the showroom at 25K an absolute bargain.

Castle Lotus If your after proper customer service and friendly faces. They aren't very local but well worth the trip, many people travel much further to see them!

Speak to L100NYY, despite his height he's actually a decent chap wink.

I only realy know the southern Dealers so B&C or Lipscombe are great if the sales guys there are first class enthusiasts. Castle are also quite active with the owners clubs running and supporting events and suchlike. ... The Leicester one and their MK outlet are there to shift stock and i was less than impressed when i purchased from them .. didnt know what spec the car was etc etc (this was a year old car btw not new)

Avoid Leicester dealer. Terrible customer service and sales people, ended up buying mine from Nick Whale in Bromsgrove, but unfortunately that specialises in Ferrari and Maserati now.

Same here. Although I wasn't happy with the after effects of the last service done by them - but to their credit they are sorting it without issue (must update my SELOC thread).
