I bought a lotus hardtop for my elise for 750-800 quid last year, can't see why it would be any more, prob less as must be a much smaller Market for exige one.

Maybe but the Exige has the air intake on the roof so not as straight forward to build. i would have thought anyway.

Does the Exige one fit the Elise?

The Exige roof and Elise (short tail) roof are effectively identical, in fitment and size etc. So an Exige roof will fit onto an Elise, and vice versa.

However, the Exige has the roof scoop which would look very odd on an Elise because it doesn't go anywhere, whereas the body work ont he Exige is designed to follow it down.

I think, fully sprayed from a Lotus dealer you're looking at >£1000 for a hardtop, but finding someone who wants an Exige hardtop, in that colour etc might be tricky.

i did not know that! i've NEVER seen one without a roof before! is it intended to ever be driven without it?

Oh sorry I see, put it there and ask for offers perhaps? As I said above, brand new is just over £1k so I'd say no more than 700 perhaps?! Maybe less to give opportunity of buying and spraying.

Just listed it at £600. Gives people a chance to paint.

Yup can be driven without no probs at all... I don't think it looks as good as one with the roof on, but it does mean you get a better sensation of speed biggrin

In the 14 months I've owned the car, the roof's been off twice; both times to clean the interior hehe

This is the day I bought it....

AFAIK there could (I stress could) be insurance issues, as the Exige is listed as a coupe, while the Elise is a convertible.

Apparently 'tis but the work of minutes to remove the screws and go topless...

I did worry about the insurance, and so rand my broker (A Plan) who confirmed for me that it wouldbe ok (especially as I have a soft top for mine also), however you're right some might be a bit different and so best to check every time.
