Ive got rid of the Elise & bought this..
Its awsome to drive & great fun but i will always have the upmost respect for the way Lotus manage to build cars that are simply magnificent.

Good bit of kit. I looked at the Z3M coupe when it first came out but ended up with a M3 cab. Great engines, lovely gear box. I assume you're not using a main dealer for maintenance?

Cheers guys.
Na i have a contact who happens to be an M specialist & he works for BMW, so fraction of the cost.

I hope you like chassis flex. Prefer the Coupe myself, but they are very marmite. Beware the tail happy, snappy oversteer in the wet/ice.

I prefer these to the Z4's, a touch of retro about them. The Coupe
is in my top ten.

Russ.

Considering i never get myself into that situation, i can cope with that to be honest.
The Elise was never going to be used to its full potential & was my everyday car so it made sence to change it.

Good luck, and with the cost of parts you`ll need it - I lunched the engine on our Z3M coupe (well, it went when I was driving it) - big end bearing went. It was cheaper to replace with a mint, low miles engine than repair - the bill was the thick end of £3k and that was at a specialist with low labour rate.

Nice. Always liked the Z3M and the Z4. Followed a nice Z4M the other day - sounded great when he put his foot down trying to pull away on the straight bits (he couldn't) - not so great when he slowed to a crawl for the corners though - You could have got round faster in a KA, so I guess it was bought for show rather than driving. Still, sounded v. nice and looked it.

Nothing will touch a Lotus around the corners, but the z3 was never designed for driving around a track & for everyday use, its much better.

Many thanks. It had to be the M version for me because they are in a different leauge compared to the Z3.

Loving that Mr Boobles. Always thought of these as a slightly more sanitised German TVR. Enjoy.

redface I recognise that Z3M.

My friend is now the proud owner of your old red Elise! biggrin

Often was I a passenger in the Z3M and took the wheel of the Elise on Saturday (albeit not moving at the time frown )
