Hi,
Ever since finding this place, and finding my Elise S2 I am now ready to move to the next stage. Exige S2 240 Supercharged.

http://pistonheads.com/sales/781459.htm

The exhaust looks very low to the ground here? Does anyonek now anything about this car? It looks nice and fast smile

Thats a Larini exhaust on there, though it does look too low, might be worth trying to find other pictures of the Larini and see how it fits - I thought it was higher up the diffuser and not as low to the ground.

And the car is a 220, to get to 240 you would need an ECU change and injectors at least - speak to Lotus Sport or Sinclairs about adding the extra power

Yes - I noticed this but mis type on the heading smile 220 will be fine initially and that you for letting me know how to get the extra hp smile The exhaust would be too low for the Irish roads :S

Sorry mate, but not at the moment, you have always tended to value them high from what I've seen in the past. When you can pick up an 08 Exige S with 7k on the clock from a main dealer, with forged alloys for £29k (and I'm sure you could get some off of that) then an 06 with 20k on the clock isn't worth 25-26k. Especially when you can also get from the same main dealer an 08 Elise SC with 8k on the clock for £26k.

I'm in the market for a Elise S/C and you can't get a nice one for under 28k, I'm looking at one at Castle's and one up at the factory both 08 car's. I've seen the one's around 26k and they either haven't got A/C or there's some sort of history issue as the old saying goes you pay for what you get.

I'd rather pay a little bit extra and get a proper car with no drama's but then again you pay's your money you take your chance, if something's cheap it's cheap for a reason

That exhaust is fine - mine is the same exhaust, but has the twin slash cut ends. They have made it to be seen, hence it sticks out the back more than the OE one and that puts it a little bit lower to the ground, but not much.

Yes, well Castles (a dealer) and the factory are going to be more than a private sale - that's always the way, usually about 6-10% more than a private sale. 10% on £29k is £2900, so £26k. Having just quickly looked, there's plenty of S with 7-8k on the clock (and not Silverstone cars either) at about £26-29k from main dealers. So anyone wanting that kind of money for a standard car with a private sale is not going to get it.

There have been a few Exige S's up for £23k(albeit early 06 cars with 20k plus)so nothing seemingly dodgy there.

Re the exhaust,i have a Larini Sport twin exit and it does look lower than the OEM but in reality there is'nt much difference.
Its no lower than the front clam/splitter.No issues with ground clearance here.

Don't know the history but I've had a quick look around it, when I was waiting for some warrenty work to be finished on mine. It seems a sound car, no major problems. It appears it was used as a motorway commuting car, and has a fair number of stone chips on the front and side sills. Interior was tidy. I think DL were the supplying dealer from new IIRC

The car has been there since October 08, so they may be open for a deal. Thats when I saw it last they may have spruced it up since.

Worth a look, but it's not mint - but then it's fairly low price from a dealer reflecting that

They're struggling for anyone with Lotus knowledge since Matt left I think. They often list cars with things they don't have, like Sports seats in a non sports pack car - I asked about a car they had in a few months ago and the sales guy I spoke to didn't know there was a difference. I don' think they are trying to rip you off, they just c+p the last advert they had and hope no one notices

Hi there,
I ran a 240 for a while, drop me an email if you want to know anything about them. I drove most of the exige varients before buying it and found it to feel much quicker than the 220 bhp S. It also has loads of standard upgrades to clutch, suspension etc over the S so much better spec-ed for driving.

Cheers
Dave

The exhaust does come out slightly lower than a standard one, however it's not a problem at all. Speed humps and things the car's really quite ok with!

My white Exige S with Larini exhaust is for sale at the moment (advert here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/797534.htm )
