Damn those gritters!!!
Discussion
Roads nice and dry up here in the North East tonight so I thought I'd take the car out for a twilight blat,,,, (you never know when you'll get another chance!!)
I know the Gritters are doing a great job but I just passed one in the opposite direction and I thought I'd just been 'hosed down' by an AK47.
Can't wait 'til the morning to check the damage :-(

It's a bit irritating to pop out in the morning to your car to find the alloys filled with road salt. I park my Exige on the end of a parking row (so only one car can theoretically take paint off my doors...) and the gritting vans seem to dump handfuls of salt / grit into my wheels.
Hopefully the powder coating (or paint, whatever it is on a 2006 Exige) will keep the salt off the aluminium. I can't imagine it does the wheel bolts any good, especially since the deep recesses for the bolts end up full of salt. And the bolts seem to corrode *very* easily and have this fragile-looking spline drive thingy
Had to take it to the jet wash today just to blast the salt out of my wheels... and I'd much rather be driving than cleaning
