How much could i expect to spend on insurance for the Elise?? I'm 25 and have been driving for 8 years no claims.. before i phone my insurance company it would be good to know what a reasonable price was..

Get in touch with CCI for a quote. I got a reduction of 15% when renewing mine and you get 4 trackdays cover too smile

Look on the buyers guide sticky thread for all the specialists. You'll generally get far better prices than 'regular' insurance companies. Have you had performance cars before, or is this your first? Previous experience will often attract a lower premium, as will being able to limit mileage and being able to produce evidence of having taken approved advanced driver training (like that offered by carlimits.com).

thanks for the response.. i have a 30 mile round trip to work everyday so i'm guessing that will also effect the insurance.... this will also be the first performance car that i will have owned . I'm bracing myself for a shocking valuation..

Dude, I'm the same age as you and pick up a S2 111R in a couple of weeks. I have got a great quote from Henderson Taylor. Actually going to be less than my Type-R and that includes up to 4 track days per year and they are happy with minor mods like exhausts and induction kits. Very impressed.

Another vote for CCI here. Very competitive price and the 4 free trackdays as previously mentioned.

Not tried HT or CCI but I'll throw in a thumbs up for Chris Knott. They do a discount for SELOC members as well if you happen to be one.

Try Elephant. I think mine was less than £700 and I'm 25 (though I was 24 at my renewal)

I insured my standard S1 through Co-Op. They were cheapest at around 800 quid I think. I was 25.

I insured a 111R at the age of 25 with 2 yeas no claims through Bell.co.uk. It came in just over 1k.

Experience does play a part. Once you have the first year under your belt it drops nicely
