Battery discharges randomly

2001 early S2 Elise. The battery is draining sometimes quite quickly - a day or so, othertimes it'll go a week or 2 and it starts fine. Have tried leaving alarm off. No difference. Interior light is always off when I check. Lights off. Radio off......Anyone had similar problem and/or got advice on where to begin my search / test methods? It's rarely left for more than 10-14 days without being started.
