Anyone know apart from main dealer where to buy the orange coolant
from? Who makes it?

Dont assume a main dealer knows which one. Took me forever to get the right one, went ot the main dealer, turnso out there are 2 different types, one is 3yr and the other is 5yr. (No idea what the years indicate)
The owners manual indicated one, the dealer gave me the other. Thankfully I noticed before I left, asked them if it made a difference and was told "Oh yeah sorry, will get the other one"

We supply the oranage Motul coolant which we use in all of the track and race cars. Very good stuff, not cheap though but works out OK if you buy the 5 litre concentrate.

Happy to sort out a group buy of any Motul fluids for Pistonhead meets \ track days.

OEM stuff is Texaco which is a PITA to get hold of from what I've heard. Try the Motul mentioned above or Comma X-Stream Red, which Caterham use (don't worry about the colour, it's OAT-based), which you can find in a fair few motor factors.

What happens if you use 'normal' blue non-OAT?

It'll gunk up if you mix it with OAT - don't do it!

just filled mine with Comma OAT red, as mine looked orange, but was orangey when watered down 50%, as my label on the expansion tank says OAT +H2O.Comma only spec two types for the Lotus.Either blue OAT and red OAT.If you flush out the red and clean the system with water, then you can use the blue.
