Has anyone had success fitting any type of more padded non-standard seats in an elise?

(without losing the space under the steering wheel where your legs go? :-) )

One trick is to fit a steering wheel with a flat bottom...

If you're very tall or fat and leg / wheel interference gets in the way of enjoying the car, then in all but the post-06 cars with airbags (and VX220s, irritatingly) it's a piece of piss to change the steering wheel.

I've got a cheap suede Sparco jobby on my Exige - same wheel as this but in black suede rather than leather:

But I'm skinny and weigh fk all so the real reason I chose that wheel was because I liked the ergonomics, wanted a suede covering and wanted it removable (primarily for theft deterrent).

Of course, the removable wheel aids in entry and egress if size or flexibility make using an Elise or Exige a bit of a pain...

Corbeau Le Pro's. Basically replica 340R seats, with the harness holes and extra seat padding of the original Corbeau S1 135 seats. They fit on the existing runners too.

£799 from Corbeau direct, although they took 2 months to be made.

Worth the wait at that price. Lotus took that long to have 2x Motorsport ones trimmed to my requirements for double the price. Had I known that I'd have saved myself nearly a grand!

The S1 135 Corbeaus are definitely very comfy (even for those without much natural padding).
