Stalling engine - advice please
Discussion
My S2 std K-series engined elise has been SORN'd since October.
Battery has been discounted to save it going flat whilst the car is parked away and I reconnect every now and then and fire the car up and move around.
When I have gone to do this today, the car started first time and quickly settled to a decent idle.
As it warmed up I put a few revs on but each time it came off the gas, rather than returning to idle engine stalled.
Once stalled, the car would start up straight away and idle away quite happily.
Is this just a case of the ECU needing to re-learn something having been disconnected from the battery for a while or something more serious.
Bit worried that as it is, when I take the car on the road every time I lift off the gas to change gear the car will stall.
Any advice, anyone had a similar problem?

Does it happen everytime you feather the peddle? Or is it only intermediate?
Not sure how much this will help as I have an S2 Exige and therefore obviously run a Toyota engine etc.
But I put my car into the local specialist for 4 weeks to have some new toys put on it and when it came out it kept stalling when I came out of gear on the free wheel up to traffic lights. Not all the time but maybe 3 or 4 times out of 10. Was rough as a badgers......
Battery had been out and charged and was assured it was just needing a good run to learn everything again. Gave it a good drive that night and it was all back to normal again in the space of a few hours!
If it's doing it everytime you touch the pedal then it does sound a bit more serious.
p.s. doubt it would die in between gear changes but may be wrong!

Might need to reset or clean the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) - have a look on the TechWiki on SELOC:
