How well do these or for that matter the Yoko 048R wear? They will be a spare set for track only..... well maybe the odd weekend summer blast!

depends on how you drive as usual and what power output you have wink

I could smoke a set of rears in a few hours hooning about in my old Elise ....or they could last 6K miles or enthusiastic road use and a couple of trackdays ....others claim to get 10K miles out of them with road only use....which is fine, as long as you understand if you really are getting 10K miles out of them, you may as well fit some cheaper, regular tyres as you clearly are not seeing the benefit of 1.3G cornering and such like just using them as commuter tyres LOL wink

Ok then

It's a GTM Libra with a slightly tweaked K Series VVC. Very similar in terms of weight and power to an S1 Exige.

I tend to drive it like I stole it.

I want them to last for a 3000 mile Alps trip and 6 or so track days, with a bit of weekend road fun thrown in.

By the sounds of it that shouldn't be out of the question.

Agreed, I just got 3k out of a set of A048 rears, just driving on the road - but then I drive like a t-wa-t!

I have just fitted T1-R's which have diminished the handling slightly, but should last me a whole lot longer?

If you drive it like you stole it on a 3k alps trip, you won't get a further 6 trackdays out of them.

My rear 048's last 3 trackdays at most. Haven't got a set to last more than 2K yet and I am probably on my 8th set.

From everyone I speak to who drives at a reasonable pace on a trackday it's definitely only 2 - 3 trackdays for rears. This is the reason I have stuck to Kumhos.

Most People using these tires on the" LoT" French Frolic last year (around 1500miles and 3 track days) were running out of tread by the end of the week.
A number of people had tires sent to hotels etc (and then fitted locally) as track day tires are very expensive in France. Remember the last couple of mm wears away much faster than the first couple.

The 48s seem to fair slightly better than 888s when the weather is very hot. I doubt you will complete your trip on one set of tires.
