My S2 Elise is due an MoT test. I normally take it to the nearby dealers but that entails taking at least half a day off work. I'm tempted to take it to the 'back street' garage near to where I work that does MoTs (a garage I think I could trust). I interested if other owners trust such places with their pride and joy.

For routine stuff like MOTs, I used to take mine to wherever was convenient. If it was booked in for work that involved lifting the car I'd explain about the jacking points, but nothing beyond that really. Garages that don't take care of customer cars get a bad reputation and lose business so most do a decent job.

When all's said and done, they're just cars, like any other.

I live East of Derby and work East side of Nottingham, Colwick in fact (and regularly see a blue Exige going the other way on my run in). I usually take it to Peter Smith for its MoT.

Spondon MOT centre did mine. I sat in the car and operated the controls and the chap just checked they worked, so I was happy. Recommended.
