I hope so! It would be the worst possible thing that could happen to Lotus. The Engineering team would simply be absorbed into Porsche and disappear, and the car manufacturing element could not survive on its own for any length of time.

Unfortunately, it would make perfect sense to Porsche... kill off a competitor and get the best design engineering team in the world, at one fell swoop. frown

Thank goodness for that.

I don't own a Lotus anymore but I realy hope they don't go under or get swallowed up with the economy as it is.

urm how do you know?

As people have said it makes perfect sense to integrate the skills and experience the lotus engineering team would hold.

Although i doubt its to kill off the cars in the process.

Yes, it is, Beak needs to learn to type Queens English not the Yank English. Good idea by Psi though, as it's quite plausible.

Because it would have been on the East Anglian BBC news if it were true. Possibly national news too. ANY activity in the car industry right now, no matter how small, tends to make it to the news. So proton, a malaysian company, selling off one of their biggest assets (Lotus engineering) would certainly have made it to the news by now tongue out

That's ignoring the fact that Lotus CEO Mike kimberley is in Geneva this week at the motor show tongue out
