Another question - sorry! smile

Topped the car up this evening when I had about 1 blob left, filled it up until the pump started to click, 26 litres went in.

When I got in the car after about a mile or so the gauge registered almost half a blob gone. Drove for a bit then parked up on an upward slope and the gauge showed the tank as full.

Not sure what to make of this ... other than the fuel level sensor is at the back of the tank? Seems to be accurate at the other end of the scale - 26 litres in, so about 6 litres in the tank, 1 blob showing, appears to be a reasonable reading or am I being a bit paranoid about a new car ?

In my experience it is all but impossible to fill the tank to the extent that all the bars on the fuel gauge are lit up.

Certainly if you stop filling at the first or second cut out of the fuel pump I have only ever seen half of the final bar lit.

My S2 K-Series doesn't have the bars, it has the (very approx.) litre counter. I have to say that it goes up and down like a yo-yo and is next to meaningless most of the time. It can vary by about 8litres dependant on if I am going up or down hill. I have always thought that it was the only part of the car that I really don't like. Every thing else is great... smile

Same here, but tends to average out nicely, it is a bit vague >32 and <10, but rest of the time fairly meaningful.

I've the counter type which counts down fuel left from full to 34 litres to 11 litres and then refill. When it says refill I do.
Parking on a slope is quiet fun as you can often find your car has filled itself up overnight!!
