I notice in the Lotus Sport catalogue the uprated toe links recommended for track use, has anyone bought these? are they that much better?

I've already had 1 toe link replaced and a mate has 2 on order for warranty work. My car is going to be seeing more of the track this year and im wondering if they are worth upgrading to save the hassle.

I got the uprated Lotus toe links for peace of mind running semi-slicks and stiffer suspension. The standard ones can break under the extra loads that the semi slicks produce. They're better in the respect that they are much tougher. There are other aftermarket ones as well from Eliseparts and Elise-shop.

Yeah im suprised they arent standard fit on the Exige as these standard ones seem a little weak.

I've just fitted a set of the Eliseparts ones to my S1 as I'm going to be running 888s on track and in Sprints this year. Very easy to fit (although you might need to get your bump steer redone afterwards) and they look much more up to the job than the oe items on the S1.
If you're going to be tracking the car regularly with OA48s or 888s hen Lotus recommend the upgraded kit (which begs the question why isn't it fitted as standard to the Exige).

If you do have the LMS toelink fitted, make sure you check them regularly for play. i am having my 3rd (yes, you read correct, THIRD!)set fitted next week over 2 years of car ownership. I track my car regularly, so I view them as consumables...(Worth having a look on Sector111 site for their toelink kit)
