sometime between going to the new forest yesterday and this morning this has happened!

and a scrape all across the middle of the bumper

Obviously no one has owned up to it! F'ing well annoyed! Any chance of getting that fixed? or a new clamshell needed?

Just from photos, that would be repairable - take it to Specialised Paintwork. They are the experts.

Oh they knew, and they buggered off quick-sharp. Looks like a towing eye or tow-bar that's done the crack, and a black bumper that's rubbed the paint. Very sorry for you. That's about £750 to a grands-worth to repair and repaint properly I suspect.

It'll be written on the little plaque on the side of the sill just inside the driver's door.

"Plaque" is perhaps a slightly grandiose title for what is, in fact, a piece of laminated paper glued to the sill. hehe

Really really sorry to hear about what some mindless bar steward has done to your pride & joy. Unfortunately I know what it's like - had mine keyed by some mindless idiot only six months after I got it and its damn frutrating to know someone nearby has done it. But £300 doesn't sound too bad for your repair, still hurts I know, but was expecting it to be more.

Yea thats the only good thing thats come out of this i thought it would have been around 700ish for some reason. I dont get the mentality of some people about keying cars and vadalising ect and the common decency to stop after youve smashed into someones motor.. i mean it just goes to show what type of society we are living in now adays

I use to get the red mist when this happened (probably once a month), until I owned 2 cars and parked in the space infront of my elise. I just couldn't see the elise at all when straightening up to the curb, too narrow and low. from that point i stopped blaming people and accepted that it must be garaged if I wanted to keep the car in good shape.

Most noble of you but the fact is the driver sees the Elise as they work out where the parking space is. Then, as they line up to back in, they see, as you, it is not easy anymore to judge where it is.

But they carry on regardless, damage the car and drive off. I would say that once they decide to carry on despite the difficulties, this makes it close to 100% certain that they are very aware of when they do hit the car.

Such people do not deserve any kind of respect or positive comment at all.

Real shame about the damage, I worry about mine being parked outside my house on the street, but what can you do?

On the bright side, those wheels look really good on your car and the twin exhausts out of the back look badass thumbup
