I have been trying to replace my brake pads. I have the service manual and it says I need to tap out the pin and recover the anti-squeal spring and then remove the pads. I have taken the pin out and managed to take the outer pad out okay but I cannot see how the inner pad comes out - there doesn't seem to be any room for it to come out.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ta!

Remove the top caliper retaining bolt, pivot the caliper towards the back of the car - pad will come out. Or remove the disk, it's normally easier to do it this way depending how rusted on the disk is.

Cheers! thumbup

I imagined it must swing out some how but thought I'd best check before going mad with the spanners. Just found this too: http://www.sandsmuseum.com/cars/elise/experience/m...
