Rally an Elise?

How come nobody rallies in an Elise? Give the light weight and strength I would have thought it would be an excellent choice (prices to ding but very well balanced) The Lancia Stratos is a somewhat similar car and that was a giantkiller in its time.

(It may be obvious from this q that I know little about Rally)

rules probably stop it happening - i know they use them in rallycross though!
