I've got a voucher for a trackday with MotorSport Vision. Never done one before and Brands Hatch looks the best for me. The noise limit is 98dB - will my 111r with induction kit and stage 2 exhaust be okay do you think?

Many thanks.

That's surprising normally it's 102 DB?

I've done 3 - 4 track days now @ Brands, they noise test your car using 3 quarter's of throttle I think you're going to be near their limit

thanks Boggy.

It seems to be a different noise level for the day I want

"We have a noise limit of 98db at this event. A road car with a standard / road legal exhaust should be under this limit but if you are unsure then please contact us to arrange a noise test."

Oh dear,

It's a morning session, don't think your car will come in under 98DB to be honest

You have no chance, not with a stage 2. You'd be on the edge with a stage 1 tbh.

The noise levels at Brands vary between 98-102 depending on what they have on that week.

The stage II I had on my 111r was recorded at 105dB [max] and averaged about 102dB. Was a limit to track days I could attend.

thanks everyone.

I am stumped I think. This is a voucher I had with a value of £100. I don't know whether I could try selling it or if these things are limited to the person named on the voucher. Will investigate.

thanks again

No idea Boggy - I was thinking of ebaying it. It's £100 voucher valid till 20/08/09. I have just called them and they said it was fine for someone else to use it. Do you want to PM me with an offer
thanks

What are these noise limits in the UK messured at? I figure it's done at 0.5m distance at a 45°C angle to the exhaust at 3/4 the total revs?

I've been asked for 2/3's at some places.

As the person meassuring is at the back, I tend to rev to 5k no matter what they ask _ always compliant for regs, except towards the end of having the 111r with the stage II on; it just kept getting louder and 'booming' more and more in the cabin, which coupled with the hurricane made long journies tiresome.

Changed to larini.

Hmm, it's a good thing then I'm not visiting any UK tracks then... if stage 2's aren't allowed, I can forget using mine. Luckily, tracks in Germany are less of a problem.
