Hi all

My 02 k series S2 currently has oval tail pipes, an oval grill to match. Thinking of upgrading the back box to round tail pipes, anyone done the same, and will it work, or would I need to replace the grill. I'm hoping I dont need to, but any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Sean.

Sean

Why not just stick to oval tail pipes, are you thinking about a Larini by any chance

Hey Sean. Surely if you're spending xxx amount of quids on a backbox, the extra cost of a new rear grill with round inserts wouldn't be prohibitive ?

Hi Stringy. Well I'm comitted now. Money is tight, but I've sourced a bargain Larini club sport. It has round pipes, and I've got oval grills, but following the good advice and photies on here, I'm going for it regardless.

Would be nice to replace the grills too, but one thing at a time, and to be honest, I dont think its an issue.

The current Janspeed will be up for sale for a bargain price at the end of the month.

Looking fwd to rumbling along to our next meet biggrin

A wise purchase Sean! You may find it takes a couple of hundred miles to coke up and sound its best (unless its used, in which case, happy days!). First thing you should do is a few fly bys up and down the central motorway. Full throttle through the underpasses, they sound awesome!

It's got 5k on it so it will be sounding at it's best straight away. I agree about that tunnel. I love it! biggrin

Update - got my Larini club sport fitted at the w/end. Turns out in the end it had oval tips anyway, so perfect match. Loving the sound of it, and finding it hard to resist 2nd gear and tunnels at the moment laugh

(My Janspeed is up on ebay if anyones interested.)
