Following an earlier thread about which tyre to get, economics meant that I could not afford the Advans this time round, so I have gone for the Toyo's and from some of the positive postings on here about them I hope I will not be disappointed.

However, they do apparently have a soft (ish) sidewall, so what pressures are people running them at for everyday driving?

24 front, 27 rear.

Personally I go with 24 front 26 on rear, but you can drop them to 22.

They will feel vague for the first few hundred miles. If you can, go do a Walshy day and scrub the hell out of them for a day. They feel much better 500+ miles in. Above pressures should work OK, I used to run them a couple of PSI above that which worked for Advans. Absolutely fine as a road tyre IMO, just go off very quickly under pressure on track... which is great somewhere like Abbeville, because you can take the piss on them and have it sideways all day

Just had them fitted and they have been filled with Nitrogen!
Steering feels very light but that might be a combination of new tyres and crap old tyres!

It's a combo of the very high tread blocks and the sealing agent (or whatever it is that you need to scrub off)). Like I said, take 'em somewhere safe and give 'em hell for a bit.

Giving them Hell, will wreck them. Toyo's need a good few heat cycles to cure, but taking them to a Walshy day is the last thing you want to do, you will wear and triangulate the tread blocks ruining the tyres.

I know, I took a new set to Abbeville and regretted it...

I am going to Abbeville in August. How new were your tyres when you went?

I should have a thousand miles on by then

Mine were about 200 miles and all 4 were shredded afterwards.. You should be OK on 1000 miles.

Also depends on your driving style of course. Abbeville is great fun though..
