Right, I am looking for a Lotus Elise.

Requirements:

• Mk2
• < £13,000
• < 50,000 miles
• exterior colour: don't care
• interior colour: don't care
• LHD/RHD: don't care
• prefer the 190bhp version

Anyone know of anything for sale??

So basically you want a 111R? I think your chances of finding one for that money are slim. Why not get a nice 111s which will be pretty much as fast due to it's lower weight and can easily be found for the amount you want to spend. As a bonus it's also in a much lower tax band...

thinking of selling my car soon due to needing 4 door.
its an 2003 111s, 160(ish) break. 35k milage, hardtop & softtop. blue colour. just taxed literally, tax disk today, doing MOT next month. its just had the cambelt done and serviced by lotus and new brake pads, also put a alpine minisub behind drivers seat to enhance sound. tracker, cd player and never tracked just PH meets. £13k

The 111s is the last of the Rover engined cars with about 156bhp. You are confusing it with the more recent Toyota engined Elise S (no 111 here) which as about 120bhp. So basically in S2 cars you've got the plain old, basic K-Series engined cars (about 118 bhp), slightly more power K-Series engined cars like the 135R (about 135bhp) and VVC K-Series cars with 156bhp (Elise 111s). Then you've got 2 more recent Toyota engined cars with 120bhp (Elise S) and 190bhp (Elise 111R). Note that the Toyota engine is heavier than the K-Series engine so the cars weigh more.

Mmmmm. A quick look through the classifieds would have told you that your budget isn't enough for what you want.
Sounds to me like you fancy an Elise and have decided you might as well have the most powerful one. Might I suggest a bit of basic research on what varients are available and then decide which best suits your needs (they're all a bit different) and budget.
Briefly, there isn't a lot in the performance on the road at sane speeds between ANY Elise. On track its much more down to the driver than sheer power. A boggo 120bhp car in the right hands will outperform a 300bhp supercharged honda conversion. All power will give you is more grunt in a straight line: the Elise is much more about cornering and handling prowess and extracting the best from it that way. Its the purists choice.
