Hi, I have a car with an S1 Elise instrument pack in it. All has been well until I had a battery die on the car which caused erratic cranking (low voltage). The result is that the speedo has lost it zero (sitting around 12mph with ign off or on). I know the "Reset" routine involving the trip/dimmer switch hold whilst switching the ign on but this doesn't seem to work on my instrument pack. Has anybody successfully done this reset? If so is there something I am missing?? From looking at the wiring diagrams the S1 pack doesn't seem to have an input from the door ajar switches but the later ones do so I have wired the latch switch into that pin (B11). I really don't want to have to take the pack apart to "manualy" re zero the speedo......Although I could take the opportunity to change the backlight LEDS...

Any help would be much appreciated

Stew

Try standing on one leg with the leg of one trouser rolled up whilst re-setting!
Sorry I can't be more constructive but I've only had this problem once (after managing to turn the ingition off with my knee whilst heel/toeing on track). I just kept fiddling with the reset button and the door until things went back to normal. Been OK since. I was told that standing on your head sometimes helps!!!

- Turn off the ignition
- Open the driver's door (yes, really!)
- Press and hold the trip-meter reset button
- Whilst still holding the reset button turn the key in the ignition to the second position (just before the engine turns
The Stack will then wind both needles back to below the zero position, and the LCD will show the software revision number. Once it's gone through the motions your speedo should then read true!

This was nicked from Scottish Elises which I think in turn was nicked from SELOC. Quite a few reports of it working. Good luck.
