My S1 came with harnesses, but standard seats, when I bought it. As I'm only 5'3", I don't feel that the shoulder straps would hold me securely if I had (another) head on crash. Bascally I feel that the straps would slip off my shoulders.

At present the straps pass over the seats around the headrests. I am therefore seriously considering fitting these:

Has anyone else made this mod? And does anyone know if the grommets can be obtained for less money elsewhere? £60 for a couple of pieces of plastic seems a bit expensive to me!

a few people on SELOC have modded their seats with those

not seen them elsewhere cheaper ...most people are happy to save the £1500 of buying new Motorspoeat seats wink

at your height I would definately be getting those grommets, or proper motorsport seats that have been crash tested and homologated for the Elise ...rather than a best guess, hope for the best cheap solution

Thanks for that, Bogie.

I have finally managed to log on to Seloc, so have had a look on there. Seems there may be a cheaper option on grommets - I'm waiting for a reply. I know £60 is cheap compared to new seats, but I'm a bit skint as I've just put a huge deposit down on a house!
