...I've bought one.

I always had both feet placed firmly in the Caterham camp thinking that they were the best sports cars that reasonable money could buy. 7 or so years ago I sold my R1 and bought a Superlight with the generous payout from my friendly insurance company after my Griffith 500 lost an arguement with a ditch.

I was very pleased with the seven but got caught up in the 'more power' craze and sold it to fund the building of a caged 2.3 litre Duratec monster. Although it was a fantastic car that was quicker than the vast majority of other cars (and quite a few bikes) I never really felt that I had bonded with it if you see what I mean.

Anyway last summer the car was sold to a chap who no doubtedly appreciates the car far more than I ever did.

Then the search for a fun replacement started. Fast forward through the winter months and to my wife's relief I finally came up with the idea of getting a 996 GT3.

Just as a deal on a GT3 was agreed we found out that we are expecting our first child later on this year. On goes the sensible hat and dreams of GT3s go out of the window.

I still wanted a fun car but other things are now more important.

My wife suggested a Lotus and to cut this long story short last Monday I picked up an Exige S.

What a car smile It goes like stink and handles like it's on rails. Also it looks like the Batmobile and makes me feel like a racing driver.

I wish I'd bought one years ago smile

Greetings and welcome to the fold! I have only owned a Lotus for a year and like you wished I had got one sooner.

Any pics?

Ah Jesus enough with the SELOC bashing, just because you dont like it does'nt mean everyone else wont.
I've made a lot of great friends on there and actively join in the regional events(perhaps you should try and meet some people face to face?).
Great source of info and help.
A lot of banter amongst the regulars but you quickly get used to it.

GLOL

to quote Bernard, it's never been the same since the creation of the detailing forum!

Lot of great people on Seloc, unfortunately, there are some real problems too.

congrats on the new purchase...theres nothing quite like an Elise/Exige for feel, thats for sure

im a regular on SELOC, have been since day 1 ...it has changed over the years, but so has this place too

people come and go as they buy n sell cars, but its still one of the best source of info for Elise/|Exige on the web...if you can use the search funtion rather than ask the same question for the 5th time that week LOL smile
