S1 Seat Refurb

hi. long-time lurker, first time buyer...

just wondered if anyone had any experience getting the black seat edging refurbished.

the seats are in okay shape, but the material edging on the drivers side is looking a little worn. I asked at B&C but they can only do the whole seat for a few hundred quid each...

i've tried a couple of places through Elises.co.uk but no response from either.

Have you considered trying some local upholsters? There doesn't appear to be anything particularly special about the material itself so I don't think it would need to go to a Lotus specialist.

It's simpler than that - for 100-200 pounds you can just buy some from PH or SELOC classifieds which aren't worn, and sell yours on for 50 quid to someone who's doing a full seat refurb.

Yeah upgrade to some nice and comfy S2 seats.... I got a great pair of carbon leather and alcantara for £300, and sold my worn out "veneer" S1s for £150. ;o)
