My father-in-law has a S2 111R '58 plate. The dashboard fails intermittently and he loses everything.

ls this common?

Don't know but a 58 plate should still be under warranty. Take it to the dealer.

He has and they are going to replace it, but that's not what l was asking. lt was simply more of a question - i.e. has this happened to other Elise owners?

Been a couple on seloc recently on late 08/early 09 cars,dodgy batch?

The display completely disappears - so he's got no speedo, rev counter, water temp, etc.

Then it reappears. An intermittent fault.

Hi there, ive got an Elise S1, and it use to lose all power and the dash lights would come on. The fault was the battery clamp was loose and the battery slid to one side and posive terminal touched the chassis, only around a right bend, dont know if this helps.
