Hi, I'm thinking of buying an elise that is listed on V CAR for the simple fact of the price. Would anyone strongly advise against doing this? It is from an independant Lotus dealer.

Thank you in advance.

Just in case another one comes up, it doesn't have to be a problem, it all depends on the damage the car had prior to the repair and how well it was fixed. If it was spun on a motorway and damaged both clams but with no suspension damage it could have been written off but only had what is effectively light panel damage. However I've seen Cat C or D cars where front wishbone mounts have been bent and (poorly) repaired which shouldn't be touched with someone else's 10 foot bargepole.

As long as the car is priced to suit and you are prepared for a bit more hassle selling on then it shouldn't be a total show-stopper.
