What's going on with Exiges.com? Can't register

I've been trying to register to post on Exiges.com for days. First their CAPTCHA system wasn't working (no image) so the process was actually impossible to complete.
So after finding his details in the Nominet information for the domain, I phoned the owner and reported the problem.
Within a short while it was fixed. Registration complete but my account has to be authorised. 24 hours later, I am still waiting.
I phoned the owner again. Same woman answers. The owner doesn't want to talk to me. I offer my advice (I run a huge forum) but he doesn't want it. I ask if my account can be authorised. I'm still not.
What is going on with Exiges.com and the owner? Does he not care about the site? Do the existing members of the community know that there are no new registrations?
If I owned that site, I would run it in a way that it could grown and become more successful. Seems the owner doesn't care.

Due to the very good nature of the board and the fact it needs little if any moderation, I think you'll find the admin is very much part-time which is testimony to the board itself. Therefore registration can take some time. When I registered it was very quick others have had to wait a while.
I think tracking the owner down and phoning them might not have been the greatest option. Smacks a bit of stalking

Ok so we know the nature of the internet. Instant gratification, information in a few seconds. When people find a forum and decide to join it is usually because they wish to post (since they can, in most cases, read the forum as a guest).AVforums...

So why stifle that enthusiasm by making the people wait for registration authorisation?!
It's a horrendously bad idea and *no* forum should do it if they wish to grow.
Overclockers do it (or did some time ago when I wanted to join), which is why I put some effort into developing our computer forums in competition.
So it's not stalking, it's enthusiasm to post in the Exiges forum (I need urgent help finding a suitable seat - nobody has replied to the same request here) and frustration that the forum owner is being so negligent in the way he is running his forum.
Glad you know AVForums. You'll perhaps know then that when it comes to running a forum, I know what I am talking about.

Many boards (I used to run various BBS years ago) are funded as a hobby by the owner, don't receive any income and exist freely for the benefit of those who are members. If the owner wants to do admin once a week thats up to them. It's not as if they're getting paid.
