Replaced my 75% worn MMC pads with some new MMC equivalent ones from Eliseparts. First problem was that they clacked as the wheel rotated, solved by doubling up the pad buffers. Now they work, but just as you come to a stop you get a groaning noise.

I thought it might go away as they bed in, but appears not. Any ideas/suggestions?

Brake really hard time and time again. Trackday should do it.

Have you tried this:

http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Brake_pad_bedding_in_proce...

My new pads were squealing horribly until I did the above.

Just one other thing, when they're groaning, you're not getting a pulsing back through the brake pedal are you?

Yes, done a few hard stops, works fine with no noises under such conditions but when using them lightly round the village you still get this daft noise just as you come to a halt.

p.s. Funny to see how Nick Adam's "TATDS" has become folklore!

You will find that unless bedded in properly they will squeal/grumble at low speeds and light application but be fine under harder braking. A few hard stops will not neccessarily bed them in. Like I say, I tried the wiki method and it cured my squealing 100%.
