Hi,

I have just downloaded the Sygic UK route finder app for my iPhone 3g and wonder if anyone recommends any lotus elise s2 friendly iPhone 3g windscreen mounts (preferably including charger)?

I bought a holder/fm transmitter/charger a while ago that plugged into the electric socket and it was quickly binned so any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks,
Carl

Hi,

Just tried it using one of the JML non-slip mats covering the rev counter in my girlfriends car and it worked a treat. Need to find a suitable position in my car and I may just stick with the mat.

Cheers,
Carl

I have the non slip mats in all the trays. There is no chance I would trust my iPhone to a non slip pad. The first roundabout I got to the phone would be a sideways missle then a box of bits. When I am using my phone for navigation I prop it in front of the speedo. My phone has a thick rubber cover so it doesn't slide. It is good but doesn't solve the charging problem.

RAM mounts do various suction cup/stick on/bolt on mounts for the iPhone but I'm not sure if they're available in the UK yet. IME RAM mounts are pretty good, got some for my Garmin GPS and they work fine on both bike and in the car.

Hi all, I only do quick sunday blasts in my Exige, so I don't need a charger (although I do have a battery extender type thing that gets flung around the passenger footwell!) so all I use is this windscreen suction mount. It's cheap as chips and sticks like sh*t on a picnic mat!

Hi,

Thanks for all of the replies/suggestions/advice.

The JML non slip mat over the speedo on the Elise is not recommended after a test run due to the small size and steep angle of the fascia.

I will now try the cheap suction mount recommended.

I can get around the charging issue via a separate accessory.

Many thanks,
Carl

Hi,

Finally found a good quality iPhone windscreen mount including power cable for the more than reasonable price of £5.99 delivered from ebay.

The only problem now is that the power socket on my elise does not seem to work (never ever tried it before now). The power cable definately works as I have tried it in other cars.

I have a 2004 111S, any suggestions for troubleshooting the power socket problem?

Many thanks,
Carl
