Anyone know any good lotus service centres in the South/West Birmingham area?

I'm thinking of picking up a europa, but I'm not going ot buya car I can't get fixed easily when I'm surrounded by all sorts of other dealerships within 5 minutes drive.

I have a Lotus specialist just up the road from me, not used him yet, maybe will at some point. He did stick his business card on my car while it was parked on my driveway but I've had no reason to contact him yet.

Mines going to go back to the factory as I bought it from Russell at Lotus Sport. Its bit of a trek for me but I'm going to make a day out of it. There are a couple of nice pubs right near the factory for a meal (sampled one when I collected the car) and you can have a look around the factory or do one of the driving courses while you are there.

There is also no reason who you cannot have it serviced at a good Vauxhall dealership who are familiar with the VX220 Turbo as its essentially the same car and servicing schedule.

I am using an independent Lotus specialist for mine now and no complaints, but then he is 100yards round the corner!

I have the same question. I'd be confident of taking my Europa to Mattys or Top Gear Wolverhampton for any work, apart from ECU related items. I don't know if Mattys have the diagnostic software, but Top Gear certainly don't.

But for routine stuff, such as oil and filter changes don't rule out any trusted non-specialist independent garage. I had my Elise minor services for 5 years at HiQ. The cam belt service and any suspension related work would be left to a specialist though.

I may be a bit tight, but I struggle to accept Lotus centres' supercar rates. I have difficulty relating these prices to K-Series, Vauxhall or Toyota engine servicing!

I have always found Paul Matty absolutely superb. Nice friendly people who take care and pride in their work, and who are reasonably priced. A rare combination these days.
