Discussion
This week has been the longest in my life. But I pick up my Exige from JCT600 tomorrow. I won't get much sleep tonight. The feeling is reminiscent of Christmas Eve when you are a child. I am sure alot of you know what I mean. Thanks for the discussion re it being an Ex-Lotus car last week. I will put some pictures on this topic when I get it. Dave.
Sorry the update is late. I tried to put one on yesterday with the photos but the pics were taking up too much space. I have trimmed them down so hopefully they will be on here now. If not, I am doing something wrong and maybe someone can email me direct with an idiot proof guide to attaching pics.
Anyway we went yesterday to pick up the car. The weather was dry as a bone and so were the main roads. The car was waiting for me. On arrival I parked the 111s next to it and took a couple of pics of the cars together, with the same no plate. Which I thought was quite novel.
After run through and a coffee with Steve, the salesman, I was in the car on route to Scarborough. A journey of approx 65 miles. The roads were nice and dry. I can't believe how quiet and civilised the car is when driving normally. The sound insulation is excellent. However when you floor it all hell breaks loose (in a nice way). The acceleration is phenominal. It is so much faster than the 111s. You have to be quick to catch the revs in 2nd gear, it revs up to 7000rpm so quickly. Everything feels really tight and well sorted. The clutch bites early. JCT600 have added a CUP 260 stripe along the roof and spine of the car which looks fab. I am still learning about the car. I am wary about driving it in damp or wet weather with the tyres on the car. Anyway that enough waffle from me, I am going to try and attach these pics. Thanks for the interest, Dave.
