The dreaded HGF......
Discussion
....has struck at 64k miles, losing lots of coolant and a bit of mayo under filler cap although no other signs, heater still working fine and engine seems to be performing ok. Bit of a shame cos it had always been warmed up gently but I guess its one of those things, hopefully won't be too damaging to the bankbalance....
Dropped off at Topgear Wolverhampton on Saturday, the guys were helpful enough to give me a lift to the station and have emailed me to say that its now without head and is underway, picking up at the weekend.

OI!, join the back of the queue i have been spending that on getting the windscreen wipers replaced on the TVR... time to get back in an elise methinks!

My dad blew up his 996 last year, cylinder liners, think engine was about £12.5 basic some other stuff took it to about £14 all in but he's well chuffed with it now. Not expecting elise to be less than £500 but hopefully not much more. It's pretty cheap compared to my old chim, esecially when the dreaded outrigger rot set in....,

oh well... the new owner (well he hasn't taken delivery yet as i'm still waiting for the V5 to come back after the plate change) is a real enthusiast and a bloody nice chap to boot, so i can't think of a better person to sell the car to.
