Sorry if this has already been posted before but i need to buy one as im pissed off with my battery going flat after a weeks inactivity.

Any recommendations?? Ideally i would like one that can plug into my cigarette lighter if possible.

I don't think there is much to choose between the recognised brands (accumate, optimate etc).

On the output side a lot seem to have a plug and come with both clips and a lead to hard wire to the battery terminals with a cigar lighter adapter being an optional extra

I'm in the same boat - battery is flat but as my drive is on a slope and currently under an inch of sheet ice then I couldn't use the thing even if I wanted to! Will need to get a trickle charger and a conventional charger I reckon...

same here except mine is also in the garage. Quite tempted to just leave it the way it is for a couple of months.

Hi,

I've been looking for a week or two for a combined charger/conditioner and this is the best I have found (thinks it clips on the battery though);

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

Does anyone have any links to anything better (My 111s s2 is in the garage with a flat battery as I type). Also, does anyone have any links to a good battery replacement for a 111s s2 2004 just in case mine has died for good?

Many thanks,
Carl

Sorry, didn't really elaborate. - fortunately mine is also in the garage, but there is a steep drive leading up to it. I've been taking the opportunity to give it a full winter detail while it's laid up. Just spent an afternoon lying on the concrete slab floor polishing the diffuser, then all the exposed alumium in the cabin, fed the leather, vacuumed, waxed the wheels and dusted the dash. After treating the paintwork similarly over the past couple of weeks, I feel it needs to be driven at some point soon...

To be honest, following one truly horrific drive in torrential rain and the protracted snow/ice I consciously took mine off the road for a couple of months. Couldn't find any fun nursing it around every bend - would rather use my Clio while conditions are so bad.

Have you thought of getting a trickle charger? I have one and it keeps the battery topped up fine. The one I got is the CTEK 3600, from my local Lotus dealer, around £50, although cheaper on Ebay I think. It has an adaptor to plug into the cig lighter, however this seems to make too poor a contact to work reliably. But it's fine with the leads connected to the battery. As you have to keep the bonnet open it's probably only suitable for garaged cars though...

Is that a conditioner as well?? I have reserved something very similar for the same price at Halfords but its just a charger.

Decided to cancel the Halfords order and use some of my Amazon vouchers on this http://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/shop/productprofile.as...

I just disconnect the battery if I'm not going to use the car for a few days, only takes a few seconds to do.

Hi,

I believe so;

Ring 8 Amp Smart Charger RSC8. The fast, safe way to test, recondition and charge your battery.

Cheers,

i have one of these connected to my LC, seems to work with no problems, although if your battery is dead you may need to disconnect it to charge it first.
I then have a lead permanently connected to the battery which i can hang out from under the bonnet, allowing the bonnet to close again hence being able to arm the alarm.

Hi,

Decided to order this one after reading other recommendations;

https://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/shop/productprofile.a...

£45 incl delivery.

Particularly like how you can connect a stub lead to the battery permanently to allow for easy connection to the charger when needed.

Thanks,
Carl

Alright Boggy fella, i have probabl;y bought about 10 cars since we last spoke but there has always been a Lotus in the garage!! Believe it or not i actually had the same car (Audi A5)for 18 months, which is a record f0r me!!

Current Lotus is a J Reg Elan SE Turbo in BRG that i bought from a Lotus Club member, absolutely immaculate with 50k on the clock. This one suits me down to the ground as it is a little more comfortable and i am not st scared to drive it like i was with the various Elises and Exiges i owned.

Almost bought a couple of Europas in the past 6 months but couldnt agree deals, however there is still an itch there waiting to be scratched.

Happy new year to you and yours.
