I'm writing this from the midway point of the London New Years Day Parade, the idea being that me and a few of the LOT guys drive in the parade and generally enjoy ourselves which we did............. Right up until my head gasket blew infront of thousands of people and the millions in America waching on TV.

Now stood next to the car waiting for the parade to finish so the RAC can rescue me!

No real point in this post, but I'm bored and cold so it gave me something to do!

Crappy New Year Everyone!

Sorry to hear that Chris. Is it definitely the head gasket or something less serious?

Chris, it's Savvy from Lotus on Track. Couldn't believe it when we saw your car go up in steam!

We got to the end and pulled over, we were going to try and come back and roll you out but the organisers wouldn't let us.

Did you manage to get home alright?

I think the issue was overheating as a result of a bust fan and the slow moving parade, so the expansion tank let it all out. Chris will be able to confirm but it's been all sorted now thankfully!

Thats the one! The fluid that gushed out and made everyone fear the worst was from a valve in the expansion tank protecting itself against the heat (apparently). New fans have been delivered and fitted and should pick her tomorrow.

Can't wait to have her home and thanks to MrD for offering to drive me to the garage to pick her up as Mrs49 is currently knee deep in powder somewhere in the Alps!!

Great news! Obviously sad that it went wrong, but good news that it's probablu cheaper to fix than originally anticipated.
