Hello,

My wife and I are going to shake off the surley bonds of my BMW 320D in the spring and indulge in a nice Elise R SC.

My question is this: What is the difference between having or not having the intercooler as fitted to the Exige? The performance figures would appear to be the same having quickly scanned the Lotus website...?

We prefer the look of the Elise to the Exige but having test driven both, I am of course rather taken by the benefits of a supercharger! For road use only, I will not be too fussed about not having the aerodynamic advantages of the Exige either!

Best wishes to all.....!

Elise SC and EXige S are different supercharger implementations, with the SC using an Eaton M45 and the Exige using the M60

M45 is about maxed out at 220Bhp, and it's installation makes it impractical to fit an intercooler, even if you could get more throughput from the M45.

Exige S at 220 is the start point, they want you to order the performance pack to 240...
