I have stayed at the following place a couple of times - cheap, clean and Mrs Wisniewski puts on a decent German Continental breakfast. A few of the rooms are en-suite, but the shared bathrooms are very good anyway.

You will need a German speaker to book though - neither of them speak English, so much fun can be had trying to communicate with Fawlty Towers German and hand signals.

It is directly opposite the motorbike shop in Adenau, so well handy for the pubs etc.

In my room, I could sit on the bog with the window open and watch the Breidscheid Bridge section of the track. Need I say more.

We also had a large balcony outside the room where 10 of us sat with the local brew while the rain came down.

Excellent hotel, excellent location and I would highly recommend it.

Hotel am Tiergarten owned by Sabine's family. Her mother and sister are on reception. The restaurant does good value pasta. Speak Italian and get free wine, I did !! They also do amazing steaks on hot stones.

We've used the Hotel Blaue Ecke in Adenau a few times. Parking round the back and a good bar/restaurant attached. Breakfast is OK and free Internet in the bar. Job done. There are usually a few English registered cars in the carpark so its a popular place.
