sorry not in that way! i need to find a way of getting a clock in my elise as i use it daily and my work is very time dependant. i have a 09 elise s with the alpine stereo but cannot find a way of making it display a clock, i have been through the instruction manual and it doesnt say that i can. is the Alpine unit good and matched to the speakers as i do have a spare good quality head unit (pioneer 8600) that would display the time, but would need the purchase of the ipod controller. any other thoughts??

if i ignore replies its not because of ignorance but i have been up all night and wont wake up until around 1700 hrs

I'd like to know this, I've been trying to do the same thing, I have an 09 and I can't see a way to display a time on the Pioneer 8600, I don't want to change it as I'd like to keep the car as factory, so I just 'eye' my iphone quickly for the time.

i may be able to help you are it may be early morning typing dyslexia!
do you have the pioneer in your car or is it the standard alpine unit? if its the standard alpine unit then i agree its really annoying but if its the pioneer unit you have put in yourself i can talk you through how to get the clock up.

i kind of agree with the watch idea but a lot of the time im driving at night and the luminescence (sp) does not always last too long and dont really want to keep a g shock in the car to check. at the moment i do the same as F1 and sneek a look at the iphone but its not really too safe to do that often and i like to always know what time it is.

thanks for the suggestion but not sure where i'd put it and how i'd route the cable to power it.

have been looking at one of the digital pods which can be set to read out whatever you require as used to have one in my cupra to keep tabs on temperatures but i can only find ones for VAG cars, this would of been perfect as would of just took up one of the air vents.

i guess theres no way to get the stereo to do it then, so does anyone know if changing the head unit is a bad idea seeing as its all alpine or whether there would be little difference. obviously i know i am never going to get fantastic sonics but wouldnt like it any worse.

any thoughts?

I had the same problem in finding the clock. Short answer is that the Alpine head unit supplied on 09 cars does not have a clock!

GTLS watches illuminate constantly for about 25 years.
