Specs include 217hp supercharged 1.8 litre, also 192 non sc and an entry level 1.6 litre engine.

The car is said to have cruise control. Front seems less distinctive or aggressive.

I'm left feeling unimpressed and a little depressed. Will the clams be any cheaper lowering insurance costs?

I see it's referred to as a facelift rather than an S3. Still, I suppose if it ain't broke...

So this is what'll be unveiled in Geneva hey? Is it me or from some angles does it look like they've gone for the yummy mummy 4*4 market....

I am underwhelemd by this - if they were going to do a new Elise I was really expecting to be blown away by the looks but as it is a facelift its probably fair not to expect too much.

But Lotus shouldn't do facelifts! That's for Mondeos and t'ing.

Straight on it looks very Evora, but in a bland way - and I do like the Evora.

I am sure it will be a great drive as usual but am disappointed it isn't as much of a striking change as the s2 was to the s1

Looks like the have raised the front, pedestrian saftey no doubt. Doesn't look good compaired to the current s2.

They've moved the design on, no doubt about that.. but for me things like lifting the front is just made it look like something from the states and as someone said compared to the s1 to s2 the new design is more facelift than complete re make.

Indeed, they appear to have gone for the BeeEm option - no indicators required.

well I'm in no hurry to swap mine for a new elise.

It's not bad (some extra indicators next to the front lights would help a lot) but what's the point of all this softly softly conservatism? I know that works for porsche but the S2 was a balls out, no holds barred prototype. The Exige S2 was absolutely as per the design sketches. It was so far ahead, so pure a design expression, it still looks fresh today.

I'm really fed up of lotus holding back. They can't afford to play it safe.

FFS stop dicking around Lotus and make this the S3 Elise. You'd have more boxsters in part ex than you'd know what to do with.

Like the bottom end of the front but apart from that its not that special. Oh well perhaps Lotus will come to their senses and make something really special soon. Totally unimpressed with this new stuff coming out of hethel.

I like it alot. True they've only tinkered with the styling but the original S2 styling is almost perfect anyway, they've just tweaked it to be more current with today's tastes. I would like to see some pics of the interior.

And how on earth are you going to productionise that ? It was designed for purpose, a Hotwheets / matchboxcar. No problems with legistlation, crash tests etc. with that.

I think I'd prefer a car that it's possible to get in and out of. smile

Im glad it doesnt make my S2 look dated!
Still may stick to my plan of buying a S2 SC early next year as this new revised car isnt different enough to spend the extra on a new model SC. Get one in a couple of years as its still a great looking.
