Unfortunately I have been in an accident in my S1 Elise. I have been hit by a car turning right and there is damage to the front clam. There doesn't appear to be any damage underneath (touch wood) from what I can see.

I have spoken to my insurer who are happy for me to use any repairer I like; I don't really fancy letting them take it to their repair centre.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the north west?

Christopher Neil in Northwich have done body work for me in the past with very good results.
The labour rate is high though, but they know the car inside out and will do a proper job.

My S1 is in at the moment for rear clam and subframe (rear ended), so no jumping the queue!

Thanks. I have also posted in the north west forum and they have been mentioned. I have spoken with them and they were very helpful.

My insurer says I can use anyone but if I use theirs, it will be less hassle regarding courtesy car etc. They say that http://www.sapphiregarage.co.uk/ are on their list of approved repair centres and they do fibreglass work.

Someone on the NW forum said they worked on a relatives car and they were excellent.

I doubt the clam is repairable (I will post pictures later) - there is a big gash from the splitter to the wheel arch, it is crumpled in the corner and there is a gash from the headlight to the indicator.

If the work involves a new clam as opposed to a repair, would anyone be concerned about it going to somewhere where they are a bit less specialist?

Steve Mattison (stephenm on the various forums) is highly recommended. I think he's based in Colne.

Can't remember his number but if you call Phoenix Motorsports (01254 384071) they will be able to give you it. Olly at Phoenix will also be able to sort out any mechanical damage, if there is any underneath. (And you only need to take the car to Phoenix (Accrington) and Steve normally picks it up from there.)

Ding. Both Olly and Stephen will do their best to help you out. They repaired minor accident damage to mine, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them for a bigger job.

Ive used NT Listons in Bolton a few times. They always do excellent work and Mercedes, Porsche, Subaru and BMW put their body work (or used to) through them which gives an indication of their quality.
