Ah, but would that reset the alarm? Also, how do I go about doing this without frying myself?
The alarm will be fine when you reconnect the alarm (I assume wherever you are storing it will be secure?).As for disconnecting it. Just use a spanner. Disconnect the negative terminal only.
I use one of these for longer periods of storage: http://www.carcoon.co.uk/
Stick one of these (CTEK charger) on: http://is.gd/ba79T
Do it the easy way with one of these (power socket adapter): http://is.gd/ba7h6.
You will be glad you did and you can stick it on every time you are not using the car for a few days. Increases battery life.

Have to admit I do this a lot when I'm busy,as previous messages, just disconnect negative battery terminal, but before you do this isolate you're alarm(IMPORTANT!!),then you've got something like 25 seconds to disconnect before alarm kicks in.
It's all in you're manual, have a good read of it.I also smear a bit of vaseline over the terminals, stops corrosion and makes the job of disconnecting that much easier.
And you don't need me to tell you this, but be really careful that you don't touch the other terminal with you're spanner when disconnecting,it's very easy to do,if you're rushing. This is why I've got vaseline on the terminals so I can disconnect with my fingers, when you want to connect again just give the nut a tweak with the spanner.
