I would'nt be supprised that the S2 prices have received a small nudge. The cost of buying a new S2.5 in any guise has almose placed the it in another price bracket/ car class. It will be interesting to watch as second hand prices will be directly linked to the uptake of sales of the S2.5.

Most S1 owners think the S1 is going up in value. Most S2 owners think the same about their S2s. Strange that isn't it.
I don't think that about my S2. It's worth about 2k less than I paid for it 3 years ago. Not exactly heavy depreciation, but depreciation nonetheless. well the fact the new car at least in 1.6 spec is arguably worse than the outgoing 1.8, is hardly going to hurt residuals either
The R and SC we will have to see, but ultimately the improvement is pretty minimal, even the susp settings are the same
It's not like the S1 to S2 which bought in radical new style, better build and other tweaks, this is literally just a facelift, i for one can see no reason to get the new model over saving a few £££ on old style runout stock.
In the case of the base car, i would say the old car is actually the better performer aswell

I think it's more than likely true, no Elise is a mass produced car so residuals will no doubt increase as Lotus have stopped production of the S2
On the same subject, “well sort of anyway” I visited Lipscombs Lotus on Sunday to look at the S3, really nice with some quirky little design tweaks’, think I’ll go for keeping my currant S2 (111R) and eventually buy a Evora.
Boggy

My S1 must be worth about £20k by now then. Excellent.
Now that the pound has collapsed Id have to pay around that for a mint S1 in New Zealand. Cheap ones start around £15kEdited by andy_s on Thursday 6th May 12:54
