Which engine mount slides
Discussion
I think I know what you mean, but in a word no.
The gearbox mount has very little movement in it, so it needs to be undone as a minimum.
I would be undoing the two large nuts and bolts that hold the engine mount assembly to the car, then the gearbox mount bolt.
The lower mount could be left in place.

Wasnt really of much benefit - the engine still wouldn't slide
Maybe the driveshafts are key
Having removed the single vertical bolt through it, now cant find the tightning torque - not that theres much room to get a wrench in there. Its a nyloc 15mm or so nut , so it'll be pretty tight

Ok now I undestand. Had the same problem doing mine, eventualy sliced the end off an impact socket so I could get it on. It is FT so you need a long breaker bar to undo it.
Anoyingly it is the same size socket as the wheel nuts on the range rover so now remooving the wheel nuts is less simple.

Out of interest how tight was the belt when youd finished - (post in other thread)Anoyingly it is the same size socket as the wheel nuts on the range rover so now remooving the wheel nuts is less simple.
