On the M6 near Stafford around 8.30 this morning, private reg plate ending YYY.

Absolutely stunning looking car, much much better than it looks in every showroom i have previously seen one in.

  • Feels a seed being sown for a future purchase.

It's funny because here in NZ we have about 6 or 8 on the road. most of which is in Auckland.... which makes it about as common as Elises in the area and more common than Exiges.

Do you actually mean an EVORA? Europas have been out years!

I think less than 500 Europas have been made, but the majority were exported. I've read about spots in Japan and Oz, and now NZ.

I guess the weakness of the pound makes it easier for Lotus to export RHD cars and get a reasonable margin.

No, i mean the Europa. Strangely i had never seen one on the road until the other day desite them being around for a fair period of time.

Looks a lot different coming up behind then overtaking than it does parked up in a showroom.

Yeah, strange but I've only ever seen 1 on the road, seen 3-4 Evora's already. I thought that the Europa looked very 'together' and 'neat and tidy', like an Elise, whereas the Evora was a bit more contrived but both look very good in the flesh, indeed I was a big non-fan of the Evora in pictures but it looks like quite a weapon in the metal, much more appealing (although also much newer and hence so it should) than a Cayman IMO.

I've not seen many.....well the only ones I've seen on the road are a 57 plate Red Europa and a 1972 lime green Europa on our club nights.

I've only seen one other one on the road which pulled up along side me on a roundabout. Seen a couple on track; last Easter Monday LoT day at Snetterton there were two others and the same at the RSR Ring trip last July but they were both German cars.

I've spotted only two. One on Highgate Hill, Islington a couple of years ago. The other recently near Pangbourne.

Last year I was driving back from Rockingham towards Melton Mowbray in my Europa, and I was intrigued by a car I could see half a mile up the road. I couldn't make out what it was, so reeled it in.

It was a grey Europa!

It truly defines rarity (or senility..) when I can't recognise a car the same as my own!

There is one I've seen around Huntingdon that I've seen a few times. Despite what people say, I really like the look of them.

Although it pales into insignificance compared to the 288GTO I just saw drive by my work.
