Europa water hose leak

I noticed a small water leak under the engine of my Europa S recently. On investigation the leak turned out to be from the turbo outflow hose that goes between the turbo and the header tank. The turbo end lives in a fairly hot area and has no shielding, it had gone so hard it just crumbled into bits when I touched it. My car is one of the older ones about, registered in September 2006 and over 30,000 miles on it. For anyone else with a similar aged car it may be worth replacing the hose and putting some heat shielding around it. The hose that came off was 8mm i/d fuel quality hose and about 500mm long. Has anyone else had this or similar problems with the Europa?
