Hi

My Immobiliser light keeps flashing whilst driving once every second or two. Has anyone else come across this problem before or have any suggestions on how I might fix it. I think the car is fitted with a Meta alarm (i.e. one button arm/disarm part of key). I’ve tried pressing the key fob with the ignition switched on but it just keeps on flashing!

Also, does anyone know if all S2’s were fitted with central locking? Mine doesn’t seem to have it (or if it does it doesn't work) so perhaps it’s related to my immobilser light issue?? Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Adam

Hi, i had this issue. My immobiliser light would come on and flash exactly the same as when you leave it and it re-sets itself but whilst driving. Many people thought it maybe due to a failing battery which just after i posted about the problem died so thought it maybe that. Got a new battery and all seemed fine for a week or so then the problem started again. Took the car to Sportomotive who took the ecu out to check there was no water around it (which there was not) and when they put the ecu back in the car would not start. Nothing would "talk" to the ecu. In the end it was a new ecu and all has been fine since. Dave at sportomotive was telling me i was quite lucky really as the ecu could have just died at any point leaving me stranded. Good job it decided to die when it was left with them smile
Hope this helps

This isn't one of those 'open the door and turn on the ignition six times' problems, is it?

Seriously, there is a method very akin to the above which re-sets all manners of things. Hopefully someone else can be more specific.

I kid you not!

I hope I don't need to buy a new ECU! It sounds expensive.

As the search function isn't working at the moment, can someone tell me more about the way I can reset the ECU.

Just to confirm, the immobiliser light is flashing once every two seconds when driving.

Yeah for the S2 Exige £600, luckily i had purchased a warranty 6 months beforehand so they picked that up for me smile
